Roy J. Boyd Jr. owns and operates Boyd Law Firm, LLC in Brunswick, Georgia, where he focuses on personal injury litigation — including car and truck accidents, premises liability, and business disputes.
A sixth-generation Glynn County native, he spent the first six and a half years of his career at large defense firms in Atlanta before returning to his roots in Brunswick. Since coming back, he has built a practice that consistently produces multi-million dollar results each year through settlements and verdicts, spanning thousands of vehicle accident cases and more than forty hip replacement claims.
Mr. Boyd earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from Georgia Southern University and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1985, where he was a member of the Georgia Law Review and two honor societies: Gamma Beta Phi and Omicron Delta Epsilon. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1985.
Boyd Law Firm represent the people of Southeast Georgia — individuals and families who need an attorney willing to investigate what happened, build the strongest possible case, and pursue the full value of what was lost. The firm’s practice is built around the belief that an injured person or grieving family should never be at a disadvantage simply because the other side has more resources.
Roy’s verdicts in 2024 ranked among the top 20 jury verdicts in the State of Georgia across all practice areas — recognition that reflects outcomes pursued for real clients, not rankings purchased.
Roy’s motor vehicle accident verdicts ranked among the top 100 jury verdicts in the country in 2024 — placing his trial results in national company.
Boyd Law Firm has been recognized as a BusinessRate Best of 2026 Award winner, reflecting local recognition for client service and legal advocacy in the Brunswick community.
These recognitions represent a pattern: Roy does not accept what the insurer offers when it isn’t enough. Cases go to trial when they need to.
Commercial truck accidents, car accidents, motorcycle and bicycle collisions. Roy understands the federal motor carrier regulations that govern commercial carriers and how to use them. He moves quickly on evidence preservation — black boxes, electronic logging data, driver records — before it can be overwritten.
Roy handles wrongful death cases with the thoroughness they require: early evidence gathering, expert engagement, and full pursuit of Georgia's "full value of life" standard. He understands that these cases require both legal precision and human care.
Slip and fall, negligent security, dangerous property conditions. Roy investigates the property's history — prior incidents, maintenance records, prior complaints — to establish what the owner knew and when.
Contract disputes, partnership conflicts, and commercial claims for Brunswick-area businesses. Roy provides direct analysis and representation without the hedge language.
Experienced legal support for individuals injured due to another party’s negligence.
